Update 1.0.1


Here’s the bugfix and balance patch as promised; this will most likely be the final patch the game ever gets unless there is some major bug or issue that I missed. In any case, here are the patch notes:

Improvements:

  • Added a pause menu via pressing Esc!

Balance Changes: (for reference, the players max HP is 48 and “effective HP” means the amount of bullets it takes to kill that respecitve enemy)

  • Player shot cooldown 0.7s -> 1.2s
  • Player post-wave regeneration 4 -> 5
  • Weapon recoil 1000 -> 1500
  • Slug effective HP 4 -> 2
  • Bat base bullet speed 500 -> 570
  • Bat bullet damage 7 -> 5
  • Golem effective HP 6 -> 4
  • Golem bullet speed 400 -> 450
  • Golem bullet damage 2 -> 3
  • Enemy bullet lifetime 30s -> 60s
  • Adjusted enemy spawns in wave 3

This aims to make you rely less on your gun for movement and making it less flexible while keeping your DPS roughly the same. The bat’s faster projectile was also a bit underwhelming so I made it more difficult to dodge and less punishing to get hit by. The golem in general was also a pretty underwhelming threat if you knew how to manage momentum properly, so it’s now not as easy to consistently avoid

Bugfixes:

  • Fixed score per kill increasing after every death
  • Hopefully fixed enemies rarely spawning outside the bounds of the map
  • Fixed bullets not despawning on death
